Walking. It is such an enormous milestone for our littlest ones. We work to get them to do it. We cheer when those first steps are finally taken. Then it’s all we can do to try to stop them. Yet once we walk, run, leap, we take that ability for granted.
Until we lose it.
I spent three months learning how to balance again. I spent three more learning how to walk unassisted again. I set myself a goal for the Go Green Get Fit Challenge to be able to walk a mile this summer.
This is my first weekend on the Great Eco-friendly Summer Road Trip that will continue through the end of the month (just an aside about how this month may look a little different). The San Juan islands lend themselves to enjoying the weather, whatever that may be (although we were certainly lucky), and getting out in the open air.
Two-and-a-half miles. That is what I did. Who would be surprised when I the chance presents to walk in beauty?
It is amazing what a body can do. If you have ever been pregnant you certainly know what I am talking about.
If you are participating in this challenge, how are your bodies doing? Anyone doing better than expected?
There are a bunch of “weekly challenge” discussion questions posted to the EcoMom Alliance Go Green Get Fit Group Page. It’s a great place to share goals, tips, etc. Every discussion reply is an entry for the Grand Prize giveaway at the end of the challenge, which will include Eco-Fitness goodies from each of our sponsors (worth over $250)!
